Springtide Serenade
For three cold months
The earth has been sleeping.
For ninety dark days,
My heart has been weeping.
But winter’s dream
Is coming to an end.
A broken heart
The spring shall mend.
A warmth is in the air,
The days again grow bright.
The world at last is waking
From its neverending night.
The ice of winter melts,
A warm wind welcomes spring.
And somewhere, by the sea,
The bells of destiny ring.
They sing a song of hope
That echoes through the air.
They fill my soul with light
And drive away despair.
So far, far away,
The bells ring by the sea.
Their call resurrects
A fading memory.
As dark as I have grown
Beneath the winter’s frost,
The springtide calls me home.
My soul is never lost.
I am summoned to the light.
The distant spring winds bring
A dawn of ever-rising hope,
A new awakening.
The grass is evergreen,
The sun shines in my eyes,
Though darkness used to reign,
The light shall always rise.

"He would create proudly out of the freedom and power of his soul, as the great artificer whose name he bore, a living thing, new and soaring and beautiful, impalpable, imperishable."

There is no greater misery than to remember, with bitter regret, a day when you were happy.

This was not my idea
"And somewhere, by the sea,
The bells of destiny ring."
I love the poem. It made me think of the smell of springtime. And it reminded me of a song.
